Moussé Fils ‘Les Vignes de Mon Village’ Blanc de Meuniers

$86

One hundred percent Pinot Meunier, a rarity in Champagne. It boasts a wonderfully fresh, fruity nose of strawberry, pomegranate, spice, toast, and biscuit with a rich but finessed palate.

An hour east of Paris in Champagne’s Vallee de la Marne, lies the pastoral village of Cuisles. The vineyards here are exceptionally steep and surrounded by the most beautiful landscape in Champagne. The soils are unique, a schist subsoil under clay and are tended by Cédric Moussé, one of Champagne’s young heroes. While pinot meunier often struggles to be taken seriously in Champagne, at Moussé, pinot meunier is celebrated. 80% of the vines planted are meunier, with the balance planted to pinot noir and chardonnay. Cédric works exclusively with stainless steel and the wine sees some malo. It spends two years on its lees before disgorgement.
