2019 Bow & Arrow 'Fool's Gold', Willamette Valley, OR

$24

Complex nose of honeycomb, grass, stone fruit, and bright citrus with a nice weight mid palate from extended lees contact and bright acidity, making this a beautiful food friendly wine.

Winemaker Scott Frank makes wines with the grapes of, and in the style of, the Loire Valley. The results are unique, but there's something else too: they feel just right. Which makes sense: although the area's all about Pinot today, Loire varieties (including Melon, Chenin and Gamay) have been planted for decades.
Scott decided to mark the 10th anniversary of his label with a new wine to the portofolio. It is a blend of 60% Chardonnay (a gift from a friend) and 40% Sauvignon Blanc from Union School Vineyard. It is fermented in large neutral oak with long lees aging.
