2015 Jac + James ‘Assassination of Chardonnay’
A lovely and approachable Willamette Valley chardonnay. Green apple, lemon, pear skin, minerality, and a little toast. It is supple, with a round mouthfeel and long finish.
Lily Jac and Lawrence James (LJ) have a long history in the beverage and wine industry. The focus is on biodynamic farming and natural winemaking techniques in the cellar, resulting in wines where you taste the fruit and earth it was grown in. The 2015 Asassination of Chardonnay was produced by LJ while working with Dominique Lafon. The fruit was sourced from Evening Land vineyard in the Willamette Valley and made in a reductive style, the absence of oxygen, resulting in a refreshing, food-friendly, and classic Chardonnay wine. It was fermented and aged in neutral oak and for one year, turned the barrels sideways, promoting texture and body.
